Our St Mary’s story is woven from the lives of many people, rich traditions, rituals, and celebrations. As a contemporary Catholic school, we follow the example of Jesus Christ and strive to create a welcoming community where dialogue about faith is embraced and valued. Living our Catholic Identity inspires us to be people of “Love and Serve”, reflecting our school motto.
Our journey has been deeply influenced by Catherine McAuley and the charism of the Sisters of Mercy. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, our school shares in their mission of compassion and service, working to bring hope and dignity to all. This spirit continues to shape who we are today.
Catherine McAuley was a woman of faith and action. Born in Ireland in 1778, she dedicated her life to serving the poor, sick, and uneducated. Believing in the transformative power of education, Catherine established schools and works of mercy to ensure those most in need could experience care and opportunity. Her vision lives on in the Sisters of Mercy and in our school community, where we seek to embody her values of hospitality, compassion, and justice.
